**COURSE DESCRIPTION**

This course is taught by NRA Certified Pistol Instructors and Qualified Maryland Handgun Instructors and will cover basic safety standards and procedures related to purchasing, owning, handling, possessing and shooting handguns.

Maryland Law is covered to meet the requirements set forth by the Code of Maryland Regulations for an individual to obtain their Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL). In total, this class exceeds Maryland's minimum requirements to qualify for an HQL in a friendly and relaxed, yet safe environment. 

   This class also meets and exceeds state Concealed Carry Permit training requirements for The State of Virginia. Students who successfully complete this course may receive a certificate to apply for a 30-State concealed carry permit with the State of Virginia for an additional fee. See below for a complete list of states.

EDUCATION INCLUDED

-Basic knowledge of firearms, their components and functions
-Basic knowledge of ammunition, components and functions
-How to obtain your HQL after the class is completed
-How to purchase a handgun after you obtain your HQL
-Proper firearm storage, maintenance & cleaning
-Basic shooting fundamentals (stance, grip, sight alignment, trigger squeeze, etc.)
-Safe handling, loading and unloading of a handgun
-How to solve different handgun/ ammunition malfunctions

CONCEALED CARRY CERTIFICATION - VIRGINIA NON-RESIDENT

The Commonwealth of Virginia allows individuals who have participated in a firearms safety training course to apply for and obtain a Non-Resident Concealed Handgun Permit. This permit allows you to carry in the following states:

Alabama*, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana*, Iowa*, Kansas*, Kentucky*, Louisiana*, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska*, Nevada*, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee*, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia*, Wisconsin* and Wyoming.

A $75 value that we offer to our Maryland HQL Students for only $40 extra!
