This course is taught by Maryland Certified Qualified Handgun Instructors and NRA Certified Handgun Instructors.

-Practical Live Fire Drills to give the student real-world preparedness when handling their firearms in a defensive scenario.

-Some drills include but are not limited to:

-Shoot/ Don't Shoot

-Target Identification

-Move & Shoot

-Multiple Target Engagements

-Procedures and Solutions for common firearm malfunctions (jams)

-How to properly and safely:

-Holster a loaded handgun

-Draw (remove) their handgun from the holster and engage targets

-Move short distances and engage targets

-and efficiently reload their handgun while engaging targets

-Situational Awareness

-Appropriate Verbal Commands

-Threat engagement articulation and justification

-One handgun per student

(semi-auto or revolver)

(Sharing between students will not be allowed for this course)

(using multiple firearms per student will not be permitted)

-A safe, quality holster for their handgun.

(Holsters must be made of Kydex, Leather or a hybrid of the two)

-Blackhawk SERPA or simliar, Shoulder Holsters, Chest rigs, Chest Holsters, Ankle Holsters, Purse Holsters, CCW Purses, Clothing Pockets.

(Flimsy cloth-type holsters will not be permitted for use)

-Students must have a good quality sturdy belt for their holster to attach to. You may not clip a holster onto your pants without a belt. Do not arrive to class wearing gym shorts, sweat pants or anything held up with a draw-string. If your pants do not have belt loops, with a solid belt, you will not be able to participate. Participation is required. Wear proper pants with a belt.

-Minimum of three magazines for semi-auto handguns

-Minimum of two Speed Loaders for Revolvers

-Magazine pouch/ case is recommended but not required

-Minimum of 200 rounds of ammunition

-Recommended (maximum) 300 rounds of ammunition

-We will have ammunition available on-site for purchase if needed.

-Appropriate Eye Protection

-Available for purchase for $5.00 at the class if needed

-The range is outdoors, shaded safety glasses are recommended but not required.

-Ear protection

-Appropriate footwear (open toed shoes are NOT permitted)

-Students who do not arrive with the proper and safe gear required in the list above will NOT be permitted to participate in the course and will need to reschedule their course for a later date once they have acquired the appropriate gear. A $50.00 surecharge will be applied for students who fail to meet this reqirement and need to reschedule. 

It is recommended that ladies do not wear low-cut tops. Ejected brass is HOT and WILL burn you.

-Lots of Bottled water or Gatorade

-Lunch - You MUST bring a bagged lunch. There is nowhere close that will deliver to the range.

-Snacks if desired 

-Sun Screen

-Bug Spray

-A Ball Cap

-A good attitude!
